Since no one at magma could help me completely:

It's time for Ba'ak to step up to the plate.

There was a map where you could move across to Africa, South America, United States, Europe, China, etc and the music would change to music stereotypical of that area when you moved there.

And in one part, some guy is told to leave his property by some powerful forces and he says "I just took out a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage on this property.. no way!"

Where can I download this fine map?

I defer to Vinylrake and the Myth Map Atlas on this one.

I'll check my archives after I get back from being on the road (next week) - I don't see it in my main archive, but it could be buried in the attic. ;)

I get no results from that search. I saw your post at magma and tried then too. It didn't work then or now! Sounds like an interesting plug.

OoH! I found it using Yahoo. Man, I often get better results from Yahoo, especially if I'm searching for my own site's pages.

[edit: I grabbed it.]

Oh, heh:
http://hl.udogs.net/files/Uploads/%20Us ... loads/?D=A

OR:
http://hl.udogs.net/files/Uploads/%20Us ... loads/?M=D

That search phrase, hl.udogs.net Earth v1.40, worked on Yahoo: the two results were the above links, which are good.

Google totally failed. Bad Google. Yahoo good, google bad.

Google didn't work because you typed in the phrase incorrectly ..

I typed it the same as yahoo. Yahoo worked. Google didn't work because it can't understand as well as Yahoo. Yahoo and I, we bros.

And as I said, I can find my own stuff on yahoo long before it shows up in Google. Google, meh. It's over-hyped.

Agree with you, Frum. Google stopped impressing me years ago when they started getting a little too into themselves. Personally I don't trust GMail, have to use it for one client's account, and notice it sucks compared to Yahoo mail which I've used forever.

I've been using Dogpile for a long time now as my search engine (it combines results from multiple search engines) and I get excellent results all the time. Generally I ignore the first match and find what I'm looking for in matches 2 to 5. If I don't see results on the first page I know I am not searching properly (wrong order of words, bad phrase, etc.).

I have it set up in Opera so I just type "d whatever" to search dogpile for whatever - et voila. Very fast and convenient.

P.S. Frum: check out the Earth map before Friday and if you think it's worthy of adding to the BP we'll add it. VR might want to start d/l'ing now jic... ;)
