More myth links...

Talk about Myth, other games and anything else (within the rules)

The Elfoid_TFS Wrote:The37 and FN (Fort Nonsense the forum for Marine Recon which is basically WWII's MWC of old) are both Myth related, from the WWII community (don't know if you cover them?). The important WWII links:

www.the37.com
www.bastardsclan.com
www.the-package.net
www.ww2gaming.org
http://ww2gaming.org/cadre
http://www.ww2gaming.org/icon/
http://fortnonsense.com/phpBB2/
http://www.fontcraft.com/morituri/maps.html

I cover the WW2 universe at mything.org, and have all these links already, but please continue to post any active links you find for WWII or other myth related sites, I am always looking for active links to add to thelinks page and I know there must be some more out there I don't know about yet.

btw, don't know if you noticed elf, but because of your generous sharing of links you have a 'shout out'(translation: a mention in the credits) on the links page.

ps. am i so down with the current lingo or what? word.

Cool stuff guys - keep it coming! :)

One of my "Snow Day" projects as we head into Winter is to redo most of the OoH site including the links page. I have an idea for a way to not only stick the links into a db (making my life easier), but also having it automatically "check the links" once per day for up/down status and somehow including that (either graying out the link if down every day for X days and/or showing # down days, etc.).

Fun stuff. :)

Interesting link - and one I don't recall ever seeing before. I think I _almost_ know who did that - but not quite.

thanks for the link.

By no means the ultimate face-lift I haven't had time to do yet, but...

I've updated the Mything Links page a bit.

Let me know if you find anything obvious by way of missing, incorrect, whatever links. I know some are broken, but feel free to point them out anyway. I'm definitely more interested in missing or incorrect ones though. :)

Without comparing line by line with what I have in my links table I can't tell for sure if anything is 'missing'. Let me know if you want a machine readable copy of the links in any particular order. Always (ok, almost always) happy to share info.

ps. if it's a pain no worries, but if it's not is there any chance you could change the vinylrake credit on your mything links page to a link to my links page on mything.org? It ends up resolving to a different URL, but an easy URL to remember is http://mything.org/links. again, if it's a pain or you don't want to for any reason, no big deal, I am happy just to see my name in 'print'.

No problem whatsoever - could you point me to the specific link(s) you're talking about? For some reason I'm having a hard time finding it...

I'd definitely enjoy comparing links at the point when I really go through the list and slap it all in the db. I have an idea for a different format for things to "consolidate" a bit, and possibly have an auto-checker for out-of-date or "iffy" links. Just need to find some extra time... ;)

text is:

"Special thanks to Vinylrake, this Project Magma thread, Tireces, Fidel, Sillek, and Elfoid for additional links..."

html to change is:

this: <span class="myvr_nb">Vinylrake</span>

if you just want to stick in a <a href=http://mything.org/links> </a> tagset into your code that would be way cool. (To be a smart @$$ I was going to write the html so you could just cut and paste into your page but I wasn't sure if you would be changing the class of my name now that it's a link, and whether you wanted to embed the class attr in the new anchor tag or leave it seperate. ;) )

Since when are you ever a smart-@$$? :)

Ok, I've updated the page and also added several separate sub-links under the main Mything.org entry. Let me know what you think.
